Australia wide it has been near impossible to find psychologists, psychiatrists or counsellors that understand the transport industry, the effects of road trauma, post traumatic stress following road trauma or debriefing. We are currently designing a module in this area, with the intent of providing training packages to interested medical and mental health fraternity to train in this area. This will give the foundation a network of professionals that we can refer transport personnel to, but also benefit the general public involved in road trauma events.
Our aim is to implement our training program to enable potential counsellors to do the theory online, then attend the training centre and do the practical and final exams. The precinct will have a designated training room, with 6 computers, printer, copier, projector, audio facilities to enable classroom facility.
